La Fornace Sorbo's business is the production and sale of solid bricks and terracotta floors. The manufacturing process used is completely manual and involves the use of selected materials and traditional techniques. The passion that animates the company constantly drives the search for new solutions to improve and refine the manufacturing techniques, offering a unique product of its kind.

For the production of terracotta, a mixture of clayey earth is used, mixed in different percentages with water and pozzolana. The production process is divided into several phases: the first consists in the extraction of the clay, which is mixed with water in the factory and takes on a workable consistency. Once dried, the mass retains its shape.

The second phase involves the creation of individual pieces (round or squared depending on use), while the third phase is that of natural drying, which takes place in sheds specifically set up to eliminate excess water.

The last phase of the manufacturing process is firing, which takes place in very high temperature furnaces and gives the product different colors depending on the percentages of the relative components. In this way, the Fornace Sorbo guarantees a high quality product, the result of passion and commitment in the constant search for innovative solutions and the enhancement of traditional processing techniques.

The clay biscuits produced by Fornace Sorbo are of the highest quality and resistance. Thanks to their porosity, they allow for better heat distribution and uniform cooking of the pizza.

Attilio Massa followed in his grandfather's footsteps keeping the name of Forni Aversa alive. One of the oldest and only producers of Sorrento Biscuit currently in business.

In December 2015 he was awarded the title of "Master Craftsman", an award given to him thanks to the quality of this ancient product and the wood-fired ovens made with the famous Maiano brick - "Biscotto di Sorrento".

Nowadays it is one of the two furnaces operating and producing the Sorrento Biscuit worldwide.
